What is Connected Rubber?
The integration of RFID technology into rubber materials opens up interesting prospects for the traceability and optimization of industrial products.
Connected rubber is not limited to simply inserting a chip. It requires the creation of dedicated elastomer formulas to make RFID technology compatible with the elastomer, as well as a high level of expertise in the overmolding process.
To guarantee RFID functionality, the formulated elastomer must not distort the signal. A team of formulators has developed formulas by selecting specific ingredients that allow the signal to be supported without modifying or attenuating it.
A reliable and robust connected rubber
Like any electronic component, the RFID chip is sensitive to high temperatures and pressures, which are necessary for the chip overmolding process in rubber. An overmolding process dedicated to RFID has been developed to ensure the integrity of the chip.
